DIY patterned fabric tutorial

I love this brilliant, simple looking tutorial by Jason Loper at Apartment Therapy. It is basically a step by step guide to making your own printed fabric to use for curtains, cushions... anything really. He explains how altough you will require just a few supplies to carry out this project, it is time-consuming, so you may also need a little patience, especially I'd imagine for larger pieces.

Anyway, for printing your own fabric, you will need the following:

  • 1 stencil - handmade or pre-cut
  • 1 small paint roller
  • 1 small container with lid
  • 1 can of paint

Jason recommends buying pre-cut stencils from Cutting Edge Stencils. However, I found the Stencil Library which has a very impressive catalogue of stencils to choose from, the vintage section particularly caught my eye.
