Mollie Makes is probably my favourite magazine at the moment. It is packed full of inspirational ideas, crafty tutorials and designer profiles. There are also handy lists of shops and suppliers so that my craving to buy colourful and shiny crafty bits and bobs is completely satisfied.
The first issue of Mollie Makes came with a free felt kit for a mobile phone cover. The felt kit was actually one of the main reasons why I chose to buy the magazine over my regular magazine 'treat', Country Living.
The kit was really fun to make, the instructions were simple and the little squares of fabric were nice bright colours. I changed the design slightly and drew my own bird. I also changed the colours around a bit so they look slightly different to the example provided with the magainze. I am not sure how long this should have taken me to make, however, I spent a good part of a Sunday afternoon working on it. My excuses for being slow are:
Anyway, if you have got issue 1 of Mollie Makes, but haven't gotten round to making your phone cover yet, then do it! I think I'm going to buy some more felt from Etsy and make a couple more to give away as gifts. The links below show the various stages of the cover being made:
