Okay, so I love a nice cup of tea. Speaking of tea, I have a pretty useful skill that not many people know about. I can tell when a cup of tea is just the right temperature to drink, without even touching the cup (which will help explain the post title to everyone who doesn't live with me). There is no use in just diving into a cup that's too hot so that you end up melting your teeth. On the other hand, if you are too cautious, you may end up with a cup of tea so cold that it ends up being just ewwww!
My favourite tea however is Tick Tock tea which is Rooibos (or Redbush) tea. It has a slightly smokey but sweet flavour. Some other teas like jasmine or mint for example have very distinct flavours, and although they are very nice, I have to be in the mood to drink them. However, I could drink Tick Tock tea all day (and I normally do).
I use 1 tea bag per pot (a very simple but lovely white enamel teapot with the traditional blue trim) and let it brew for...a bit. My teapot normally goes on the hearth in front of the gas fire underneath my teacosy from Sarah Parry at Etsy.
The packaging is so eye-catching with its bright red box and the central graphic of the victoria sponge and surrounded by the tea set (complete with milk jug). The white and blue font reminds me of traditional enamelware which gives it a nice nostalgic feel.
Some people like their Rooibos with milk or lemon but I think it's such a nice flavour, it tastes best as it comes. My favourite nibble to accompany my tea would probably be a couple of Tunnocks teacakes, but that is a post all by itself :)
