Majolo

A couple of weeks ago, the idea of posting my weekly doodles seemed like an easy idea. However, because I have been busy designing greetings cards recently, my usual sketching has been slightly neglected. I did manage to get some done last week. I do apologise but I don't quite know what happened to Friday's doodle - perhaps something really exciting did happen in Croydon on that day.

The theme for last week started off as 'woodland' but expanded to 'nature':

In the future I would like to work on some ideas I have of combining photography and illustration to create unique looking prints. I like the idea of building miniature backdrops of cardboard and filling them with dolls house furniture or vintage animal toys like these charming wooden squirrels I found on Etsy from Oldism.

One of the most perfect examples of illustration and photography working together that I found was by Swedish artist Johan Thornqvist. My particular favourite images are:
