Majolo

Team Ralph (Ralph, Alex and myself) are currently re-designing goriya.com which is a free online games website full of load of cool flash and java games. After much design chat and brainstorming, we decided that the theme of the website would be based around chubby (not fat) robots who just happen to love playing games. As you can see by the 7 sketches in this one picture, I have come up with a few ideas of how the robot will look. It is the smile that is the most tricky part, it has to be cheesy enough without look menacing, because no one really likes an angry robot.

Colours and shading aren't really that important because the final image that is used for the website will probably be done in pixel art. Then we will combine the pixel art with some biro-esque doodles and an 8-bit logo, hopefully it will look brilliant.

I found this page on vectordiary.com of 30 cool robot illustrations. I particularly like no.4 - Big Red, because even with his big jagged, snarly jaws, and snapping claws and lazer beams, he still looks adorable.
