I have always found it easier to do artwork or be 'creative' if I am listening to music. I don't know why, but I just find it difficult to work when it is quiet. I have a digital radio at home, but most of the stations play music that I don't like. I used to like to listen to 6 Music, especially Craig Charles and Huey Morgan, but sometimes I just want to listen to music without having to wait for DJ's to stop talking. Youtube is great for a wide range of music, but it can be far to distracting to the point that work levels plummet from very little to none.
Then I (with the help of a friend) found Radiosure. Radiosure is a free online radio player, available to download for the PC. You also have the option to buy the pro version for $9.99. With the pro version you get extra features such as advert blocking and the ability to record full songs. For a full list of benefits go to this link. Upgrading to the pro version also helps to support the author.
They are constantly adding more stations to their database, but to-date (30th June 2011) there are currently 19,928 radio stations available. You can listen to radio from all over the world and of every possible musical genre that you could think of, plus all the ones you can't think of.
My top 3 favourite stations at the moment are:
So yesterday I was listening to Louis Armstrong on Swing FM, designing birthday cards for a friend and drinking a large glass of Kahlua Licor de Cafe (this drink deserves a post of it's own but in the meanwhile try this link), and thinking that my life isn't perfect, but it could be worse!
